Long Arms by PhantasmaStriker Long Arms by PhantasmaStriker
The Long Arms is a mid to mid-long range attack unit. Its slender design and an ok armor rating makes this a speedy hit and run craft using its duel laser rifle type or standard shell type. And also equipped with quick reverse thrusters to get outta harms way.

Drawn on typing paper with pencil and inks, enjoy! :D

Damn your lines are clean. I wish my hand was as steady as yours. Nice design, but what is it? A fighter? A mech? A Gundam-style mobile armor? I mostly see it as a mobile armor.

Thanks!  Ya know, I never really though about that.  I think most of my original designs fall into the fighter category though I can see where your going with the Mobile Armor thought as most MA in Gundams are way different machines compared to Gundams :p

Yeah, no problem. A lot of my fighters and AFVs in general could be compared to Gundam-style MAs as well, minus being ridiculously massive...I'd say they are most similar to the Cosmic-Era take on the mobile armor concept (just heavily-armored space fighters with mobile suit-style fully-enclosed cockpits,) at least before SEED Destiny and its return to massive, freakish-looking MAs equipped with prototype weapons. But yeah, I tend to like designing fighter planes, tanks and other fighting vehicles that are presented more like mecha despite not having mechanical legs or any other stereotypically mech-like features...I like adding fully-enclosed and armored cockpits in the heart of the craft (no glass canopy, only external cameras and sensors that feed visual data to an array of screens in the cockpit,) glowing sensor lights that resemble eyes, much heavier armor, often electrically-reactive (most of my mecha feature electro-reactive armor plating that uses an electrical current to super-harden at the point of impact and shatter most kinetic projectiles,) high-output and unconventional power plants (fission or fusion nuclear reactors or high-output batteries, instead of conventional combustion or gas turbine engines,) and a greater array of armaments, ranging from mildly futuristic and unconventional (lasers, railguns and other energy weapons) to Gundam-style remote-controlled attack drones (though those are usually reserved for elite "commander" type units.) I am heavily inspired by Gundam (especially Gundam SEED,) Metal Gear Solid, Halo, Ace Combat, Star Wars and Warhammer 40K.

The main villains in my original military science fiction series, the Dominion of Zecha, *really* love building crazy, awesome but varyingly-impractical war machines that are similar to Gundam-style mobile armors. In terms of military hardware, the Dominion is my most anime-inspired faction, so designing combat vehicles for them to use and the heroes to fight is great fun. In case you're interested, here are two Dominion aircraft ( fav.me/d5tqrr8 and fav.me/d65yfln ) for you to see. And sorry for the long post, I just love meeting fellow mechanical designers :3

I like armored closed cockpits myself probably due to being a fan of Ace Combat 3: Electrosphere and some of the later.  Love that COFFIN system <3

I think I faved one of your Dominion aircraft, the Seraph sometime back when I saw it in the MD group.  Anyways it's cool and nice to meet you too.

Oh yeah, I think I remember that too. Well the good ol' Seraph has gone through quite a few revisions since then. I will probably finish its design before too long, and submit it to MechaDesigners the way I did with the older design, and then, hopefully, you will be able to find it.
